In a commuters perfect world, charging outlets would be everywhere—on the bus right next to every seat, in the subway, restaurants, you name it. Then again, even if there were chargers everywhere, you would always have to bring your charging cord with you or, purchase two; one for home, one to keep in your bag. Even then, you might not be in a place where there is an outlet ready for you to charge your phone. You better believe I’ve forgotten my charging cord at home and have been places where there were no outlets.
As much as I (still) love my Nexus 6P, its battery won’t last a 15 hour day. Sure, I could have purchased another charging cord to keep in my bag, but down the road, I’m sure the cord would rip, and who wants to lean on a wall waiting for their phone to charge? Ain’t nobody got time for that. For those reasons, I made the decision to look for a quality portable charger that had great reviews on Amazon. I also wanted one that was small and lightweight enough to fit into my small everyday handbag. After a bit of searching, I found the Anker Portable Charger that’s compatible with iPhones and Androids.
Watch me unbox the Anker Portable Charger on my Instagram Story below. Please note that the USB type C cable that attaches to the Anker charger to my phone was purchased separately and does not come in the box.
What’s in the box:
- Anker USB Charging Cable
- Anker Portable Charger
- Mesh Carrying Case
This battery is LONG LASTING. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve had to recharge the charger. Keep in mind the Anker charger uses a USB to charge. Therefore, you’ll need to either get a wall outlet USB adapter or remember to charge it while you’re on your computer. The time it takes for the battery to charge my phone is fast. My phone can get from 30% to 100% in around 40 min (maybe even less, tbh). It’s fast.
Weight & Size
The charger is 6.5 x 2.2 x 0.8 in and has some weight to it. Although, not enough to stop me from carrying it in my small bag every single day. It fits nicely at the bottom of my bag and I’m able to rest my wallet and other items on top of it. I can also fully zip up my bag with ease.
Overall, I highly recommend Anker Portable Charger for anyone that wants a truly portable charger. It’s lightweight, fits easily in bags both small and large. The charge lasts forever on the battery, so you don’t have to worry about keeping the Anker battery charged every week. I suggest carrying the phone attachment cord, battery charging cord, and of course, the battery, in the mesh carrying case that came in the box. Toss it in your bag and you’ll forget that it’s even there. Until of course, you’re out with your friends and realize that your phone battery is at 20% and needs charging.
